Benz’s Cast Molding Manager, David Nicolardi, watched his namesake father work his way up in the oil industry throughout his career until he retired as a senior VP. With the guidance of this life-long role model, it’s no surprise Nicolardi, too, has risen to the top of his own field. And quickly.
Nicolardi’s professional journey began after earning a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2001 from Texas Tech University, first with Motorola Semiconductor as an Etch Process Engineer and later with Infineon Technologies and Texas Instruments. In 2010, he took a position with Samsung Austin Semiconductor as team manager of 30+ engineers. He spearheaded the fastest fab startup in semiconductor industry history with Samsung. Typically spanning about 18 months, his launch team moved and installed 112 full tools from empty building to first wafer production in roughly 6 months.
In 2013, Nicolardi wanted a new challenge, one where he could apply his skills and experience to the pharmaceutical industry. That’s when he joined the Benz team. In his current role, he manages molding department personnel, sets production schedules, and develops future production ramps.
Outside the office Nicolardi continues to enjoy a lifelong love of cars, both building engines, something he’s taught himself over the years, as well as drag racing in Phoenix. He also spends a lot of time in the fall hunting and fishing in Texas with friends and family.
